Young Leadership Fund
The Leadership Award is established to recognize and honor an individual who
has made an outstanding contribution to the aging through service and
demonstrated leadership. Nominees must be affiliated with their sponsorship
organization for a minimum of three years and be not more than 45 years old.

Outstanding Programming Fund
This award is established to recognize an Auxiliary/Volunteer program in Homes
and Housing facilities that has developed a specific program to enhance the
quality of life for the residents/tenants.
Rose M. Richshafer
Senior Mentor Fund
Established in 2004, in tribute to the past and present leadership of AJHSA,
the sole criterion for this award is excellence in mentoring – recognizing and
honoring an outstanding seasoned leader in the field of aging. Candidates for
this award shall possess such qualities as “successful role model”, a “advisor
and guide”, “developer of talents: “advocate”, “organizer”, “friend”, with a
long-term commitment to mentoring others. Nominees must be affiliated with
their sponsorship organization and be a member in good standing with AJHSA at
the time of submission.
Freda & Pearl Schwartz Eishet Chayal
Woman of Valor Fund
This award, established in 2008, was created to recognize the hard work and
dedication of our “seasoned” volunteers. This award will be given to an
Auxiliary volunteer over the age of 57 who has devoted more than 5 years of
dedicated service to her auxiliary organization. Nominees must be affiliated
with their sponsorship organization and be a member in good standing with AJHSA
at the time of submission.
The above funds have been established to create endowments for young
leadership, outstanding programming, senior mentoring and women of valor.
All of these areas fulfill the mission of AJHSA..
