President's Message

Shanah Tovah.......a very Happy Healthy New Year to you and yours.  Where have the months gone.......the trees have turned to a symphony of colors and the air is getting cooler.  The holidays are finished and our thoughts now turn to our 2008 symposium.

I flew into West Palm Beach, Florida for a site visit at MorseLife last month.  Our Lynne Weiss, put on her chauffeur's cap, picked me up and was my personal tour guide as well as host.  For those of you who have never seen Friends of MorseLife you are in for a real treat, it is truly impressive.  I had the pleasure of spending time with Louise Davis, Faye Nelson and Nadine Greenberg -------- Maggie Katsenberg, Symposium Co-chair joined up for dinner at Zola's the restaurant in the Embassy Suites where we will all be having dinner Saturday evening in April.  It was DELICIOUS. Keith Myers, CEO & President of MorseLife is looking forward to showing off his facility and speaking to us.  They have put together a great program and the setting is in the middle of a great shopping, not too far from Palm Beach.......enough to keep you busy every free minute.

Sally Korkin, VP PR and Marketing and Rachel Festenstein, Recording Secratary are redoing our promotional brochure so that our membership VP's will soon be able to start reaching out and I am sure we will see our membership grow.

Hiliary Rapkin, VP Bylaws has already set up her committee and the bylaws will be adjusted to represent reality.  This is not an easy job as we know each bylaw is a discussion.  The membership will receive the bylaw revisions prior to meeting in April where we will vote on them at our general meeting.

Lynne Weiss will be working on updating our website, hopefully everyone checks in every once in while for the updates.

Thanks to Tobie Bekhor, editor of Connections, I know from experience this is not an easy task.  We are always looking for articles on new programs, fund raisers etc.  Let us hear from you if you would like to submit an article for us to include.

Have you given any thought to sending in a submission for one of the three awards or for all three, Young Leadership, Outstanding Program and Senior Mentor.  Please make sure I receieve your entry in good time.

I am always open to new ideas, share your thoughts with me...........I can be at Biggilda2@yahoo.ca.

Again wishing you a Healthy Happy and Sweet New Year.
